Patients before profits
As of March 2015 over 37,000 Canadians hold a license from Health Canada to possess medical marijuana, and this number is growing rapidly. It is estimated that over 400,000 Canadians will have recommendation letters to use cannabis from their doctor in place by the end of the decade.
Currently there are under 30 Licensed Producers approved by Health Canada struggling to meet the supply needs for the whole country. This leaves significant numbers of patients without access to medicinal cannabis for months at a time. Furthermore, Health Canada’s direct distribution system often fails to provide patients access to strain varieties specifically matched to their condition, nor does it provide the educational support or evidence based facts to help them make informed decisions related to their medicinal use of cannabis.
Our facility exists to provide safe access to medical cannabis, as required by the supreme court of Canada, to patients who are failed by the current MMPR producers in meeting their supply, selection, preparation and educational needs.
